Thanks for the interest, always amusing to think how many people actually find the stuff we post interesting. Deviation views are probably on their way to 2 million, 394,000 page views, 1000 watchers, something like a dozen people who use my base. and out of all these people I keep close contact with like 2-3 people here. Talk about a Pareto distribution!

I'm working on something relatively big, certainly useful to me and maybe others pixel wise right now. I alluded to it in the discord. I don't know when it will be posted but it is getting done slowly but surely. It is indeed German WWII and can't be hard to guess.

I started up a little investments show a few days ago and the first episode has been uploaded. The pilot is basically just me explaining who I am and describing the day my father died and the consequences that led to today. I understand the topic of investments isn't a huge focus here but it is for me elsewhere so this is where I'll channel all of that out.

If you're not interested in this at all, not to worry. I'm only posting the pilot here so other human beings know the series even exists, and after that I'll let it sink or swim on its own in terms of advertising here. Everything about the deviantart profile is the same.

Hope you enjoy it, it's mostly audio so if you just want to let it play in the background while you're doing something else it's not a bad idea. Thanks.

A Slight Delay

2 min read

I've been having computer problems with freezing and crashing since around October 2019. I updated all the drivers, replaced the RAM, tried other things, and then as a last resort reset and wiped the PC to factory new condition. The problems persisted and I just got used to it. Every few hours on some days and on others...every few minutes...the PC would suddenly freeze and crash. If it happened while I was drawing, it would often corrupt the file...destroying it. So I always saved two copies of each project and saved back and forth. If it happened during a game, of course progress was lost. There is no rhyme or reason to the crashes and I can't figure out what the hell it is. This PC already paid for itself using it for my eBay and stock market activities, so no love lost finally laying it to rest.

It's finally gotten to the point where the PC is becoming unusable. I already ordered a new tower and it will be arriving in the mail soon. The point of the journal is to say that this unfortunately means my current projects and new ones are put on hold until the new PC arrives.

I'm just glad that after it arrives I can play Fallout and Skyrim and everything again without worrying about freezes that both destroy progress but also game immersion and make it unplayable.

See you on the other side soon.

Well, it’s been a few days into the age of eclipse and I guess I’m still here and you’re here reading this. To keep it short and to the point, I still dearly miss the old deviantART. My complaints about Eclipse and it being forced on us aren’t really unique….but just to sum it up, I thought the old site was classic, simple, easy, and really just perfect. There wasn’t much on there I couldn’t do that I wish I could except adding more sub-folders or something, which was available with core. It was the ideal website for my purposes and many others. My biggest gripes with eclipse are how everything is massive, all at once all over the screen, and the gallery icons are missing. I had it all nice and pretty and even manipulated them to look like a hotel website navigation or something. Now it’s all gone. There are a few things I like though. I like the image banner option for the profile and the instant updates in the corner when something happens which only core had before. But oh how I miss the old site.

I scrolled around journals people wrote in the community and it seems there’s still widespread discontent with the updates and the petition has over 25,000 signatures. Still, I’ve accepted the most likely scenario which is that eclipse is here to stay. It will probably be manicured a bit but we will never have the old site back again.

That being said, I’m here. It looks like the people I like haven’t deactivated and I never had an intention of deactivating. People are posting art. Aside from me and at least two other people I know feeling turned off from drawing for now because of the updates, things are okay. After this settles down and dA adds all the features they wanted which wasn’t possible when we had both formats at the same time...we’ll see where we are. The final result when all of this finally settles should be relatively user friendly and better looking, and from here there’s more upside potential than downside. :stare:

I’m gonna be posting a bunch of photos but rest assured, pixel art will return. Starting with another quality update of the Panterrian Army M39 uniforms.
